September 16th, 2008 | 4 Comments | Posted in Gadgets

T-Mobile plans to unveil details of the first Google based Android-powered mobile phone at a conference in New York City. Ofcourse this is not a ‘new’ news….

The original hardware manufacturer of the phone is HTC. The price of the phone, exact release date, ‘out-of-the-box’ software and other plans will be unveiled soon.

Ironically HTC primarily makes phones powered by Microsoft’s Windows Mobile OS which is a direct competitor to Google.

It is expected to be a direct challeger to Apple’s iPhone, RIM’s BlackBerry and Microsoft’s Windows Mobile. Other manufacturers and cellphone carriers are expected to introduce Android-based phones in the coming months.

Google is expecting Android powered phones would help grow their already successful web based services grow in a larger scale. The idea of “Ads By Google” has already proved to be very sucessful in the desktop world.
