SanDisk reveals new SlotMusic Player
Flagship micro-storage company SanDisk has just introduced a tiny new Sansa player that has no internal memory or screen but has a miscroSD slot to store songs. Although the device has a minimalistic navigation/play controls, it is surprisingly cheap and is available for only $19.99 at retail stores like Wal-mart and BestBuy. The controls include: pause, play, track forward/backward, and volume. The Sansa slotMusic Player comes with earbuds, runs on one AAA battery and can play any files on a microSD card encoded as MP3 or DRM-free WMA files.
Instead of downloading files from online stores, interested consumers can buy this product pre-loaded with album art, DRM-free MP3s and even liner notes. Infact large scale media giants like SONY BMG, EMI Music, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group have all already signed on and consumers can buy the cards from Best Buy and Wal-Mart for just $15 starting on 15-Oct-2008!
