October 24th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Science

Today, if you have not heard enough about nanotechnology then either you are in some kind of seclusion or you do not surf the web enough. Carbon nanotubes which have an extremely bright future in the world of manufacturing, are the main ingredients in the super-strong “Buckypaper”.

“Buckypaper” looks to be normal and fragile but is actually as much as 500 times stronger than steel. That is not enough, it is infact 10 times lighter than steel!

The paper consists of intertwined carbon nanotubes and has  excellent flexibility which allows it to be bend like normal paper. Also you can even stack them for rigidity.
