Linux on the iPhone

November 29th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Gadgets

Whether this is a good news for iPhone fans or Linux fans is hard to tell. Linux has been finally ported to the iPhone and iPod Touch. The developers explain, “This is a rough first draft of the port, and many drivers are still missing, but it’s enough that a real alternative operating system is running on the iPhone.”

Unfortunately, the touch-screen, wireless, sound as well as the accelerometer do not work, as of now. So the development is obviously in the earlier stages. But the team promises to deliver them all at the earliest.

The next hack? Team says, Linux on G1 ! Well…good luck guys!
