Laptops to have OLED displays by 2010

Samsung says that they have good reasons to belive that OLED displays will make it to their laptops by the year 2010. They also estimate that by the year 2015 atleast 28% of all the laptop displays in the market will feature this technology. The reduction of OLED prices by Samsung and other LCD manufacturing companies will provide more support for the laptop manufacturers.
OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) and by default do not require backlight to function, unlike conventional LCDs. OLED offers superior contrast ratio, draws far less power and can operate much longer on the same charge, when compared to LCDs. This feature also makes OLED much thinner than its counterparts. In short, OLED is the future.
