Apple iPhone/iPod Touch has been long predicted to be the next revolution in hand-held gaming. Already there are several hundred games available from Apple’s online store, looks like this is just getting better. Unity Technologies, which makes 3D game development tools is now all set to offer high-end 3D game programming platform for the iPhone /iPod Touch. TechRadar reports that Unity is to ready offer the development tools to create these ‘console quality’ games, “and the company’s iPhone/iPod touch tech has been released and already been licensed by more than 200 companies.” That’s fast !

Unity seems to be very optimistic, they are even saying, “if you can think it, you will be able to build it.” !

The development tools would include technologies like native compiling, complex texture mapping, texture compression and several others that are typically required for 3d game programming.

Nintendo and PSP, beware !
