Phone for the Kings?

December 12th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Design, Gadgets

Amidst all varieties of mobile handsets providing diverse features that might or might not be used by us, why not then have a look at something luxurious for a change. This exquisite hand-crafted shining entity from Boucheron French jewelry house is made of gold (yes, pure gold) and that too from a single solid piece.

Keep estimating the price-tag, not to forget the afore-mentioned “hand-crafted” that adds more to the value. Details behind the creation include “1,000 man-hours to shape, 700 hours to hand polish and 500 hours”. This Vertu Boucheron 150 includes a sapphire crystal keypad as well. Coming to think of it, a covering for the delicate work of art is an utmost necessity.

Hence it is encased in a wooden box made from Noce Pedullo walnut tree by Reuge from Switzerland. A Vertu signature ringtone fills up the air as the case is opened. Here comes the best part….it is priced at around $30,000 (only??)
