The Solid State Drive war is on, big time. Now Toshiba shoots to the no. 1 spot by launching the highly impressive 512 GB SSD. The drives are based on the 43 nanometer multi-level cell NAND technology.

You can take a peek at one (for real) possibly at the next Consumer Electronics Show in January 2009. Toshiba will start mass-producing the product in the second quarter of 2009, so you can get one in your hand soon.
