Garmin plans Android phone in 2009

Google Android has been well accepted in the highly competitive mobile OS market. Now the famous GPS maker Garmin, plans to launch it’s first mobile phone powered with Android in 2009. Android, already having Google Maps and Streetview seems to be much favored especially by GPS / Sat-Nav companies. Despite Garmin’s failure to launch its well-publicized Nuviphone, it still is confident on its Android mobile phone project.  As TechRadar explains, “Mindful of this, Garmin is actively looking at the mobile phone market and although the Nuviphone has yet to emerge, perhaps a move to the Android engine will galvanise matters.
