Bullet trains in Japan to have Wi-Fi from 2009

Millions of people in Japan rely on bullet trains to travel across the country. Now passengers will have Wi-Fi access in these trains while traveling at 270 km/hr. The service would be provided by Nippon Telephone & Telegraph (NTT) and would be available from March 2009.
Currently, this facility will be available in the new N700-type trains that provide transportation between Japan’s two biggest cities of Tokyo and Osaka. The connection speed would be 2M bps and would cost $5.75 to $19.25 for a monthly subscription.
