Our world has more than 4 billion activated cell phones, which is almost 60% of the total population, as per 3G Americas. The rising number is mostly coming from the developing nations where most mobile phone users are experiencing wireless technology for the first time. Among the countries in the list, Latin America and the Caribbean region both posted 16 percent yearly growth, where the subscription number is supposed to exceed even 440 million. Also, there are an estimated 415 million 3G subscriptions to date.
