The World’s First 1TB SSD Drive

Looks like every booth at the CES 2009 is full of surprise. OLED displays, ultra-thin laptops, super-sleek cellphones, what not. But a 1TB SSD drive from pureSilicon was definitely one of the show stoppers. The drive comes in a lightweight carbon composite and aluminum body, which may not look appealing but boasts a transfer rate of 300MB/sec.
The price remains undisclosed, may be because it may be a little shocking at this point. Targeted to be used in servers, data centers and even supercomputers, this state-of-the-art SSD will hit the market sometime this year.
