Have our Oceans turned into a Garbage Container?

The first time I saw this picture I was just touched by the way it depicted ocean pollution. This picture prompted me to realize what was happening to our dear Earth day by day. It is terrifying to just even think about it but this creation will make you face the truth for which you simply have to see the detailing in the pictures that follow…you just might find the garbage!
Created by photographic artist Chris Jordan this is a 8′ x 11′ triptych that shows the famous Japanese painting, The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai. This is called the Gyre since it deals with the Pacific Garbage Patch from Pacific Gyre.
What you see is an assembly of plastic waste into a work of art which actually includes a count of 2.4 million plastic pieces! Yes, the entire thing you see, holds that many amount of plastic. Well, you are very surprised knowing this but you will be shocked to hear that is the amount of plastic that gets into the world’s ocean every hour!
It’s amazing to see how the artist has thought about the crisis and portrayed it beautifully, so that it not only make us just look at it with wonder but simultaneously give it a thought.
