Eneloop Lamp from Sanyo is not simply a Lamp

There’s something unusual about this lighting form that just doesn’t fit into the lamp criteria, isn’t it? Although it is a lamp but don’t pass it off as another designer lamp that just lightens and adorns a corner of your room. It serves dually as a lamp when on its own and a flash light when grabbed by the vertical stem. Now you very much understand the cause of such a shape!
This cool Eneloop lamp ENL-Y1S is from Sanyo, Japan. It shifts into two colored lighting, the white and the blue[considered the healing light], the brightness of which can be adjusted. It gets charged up via a charging station while two AA batteries are enough to keep it running as a lamp in white for 45 hours, in blue for 16 hours and a flash light for 6 hrs. This device will be available in Japanese stores in September with a price tag of around $160.
