Time goes Green too with the Soil Clock

Promotion of green technology, recycling waste products [reverse vending machines], utilizing green energy…..are some of the steps in making a more green earth. Hence we are trying in some way or other adopting the green way of living and now we see ‘time’ going green too!
This soil clock needs soil to keep it functioning. It works by insertion of copper and zinc electrodes into the soil whereby the soil acts as the conducting medium. The biological activity of the plants provide all the ions that is required. All we need to do, is water the plants because if the soil is dry neither the plant survives nor the clock! This has been designed by Marieke Staps and was displayed recently at Dwell on Design’s kitchen ecology show.
