Green Gizmo House from GE

GE has always been a pioneer in energy and utility innovation. Recently it introduced the idea of Net-Zero Energy home. As the name suggests, the house will be extremely energy efficient. Although GE targets to commercialize the idea by 2015, the initial architecture is already planned.
As Treehugger reports, “It has ground source heat pumps (promising a 30% reduction in energy use), photovoltaic arrays, supplementary wind power, high efficiency appliances and battery storage, all talking to each other through a Home Energy Manager.” We think this is very promising, but 2015 is still a long way!
Price? Only 10% higher than a regular house.
