Have you ever thought if there can be any other use of CD cases? What you see above is actually an example of it. The Shanghai Corporate Pavilion which is under construction is being built from recycled CD cases! The structure will be the venue for the upcoming Shanghai World Expo in 2010. The best part….once the exhibition is over, the whole thing can be melted down. (yes, seriously!)

The impressive exterior structure is composed of hundreds of polycarbonate transparent recycled plastic tubes formed into a grid-like matrix. Recycled from used CD cases, the polycarbonate tubes will be able to be recycled again at the end of the building’s life.
