Toshiba’s beautiful JournE MID may be a real threat to its competitors

Most people think that MIDs (Mobile Internet Device) do not have any real use. I disagree. I think MIDs are very useful devices and can be a perfect bridge between a MP3/media player and a laptop. And after seeing the Toshiba JournE I am feeling even more confident. Check out the beautiful 7-inch MID from Toshiba that has a 800×480 display, supports a wide range of codes (H.264, DivX, WMV), has 802.11b/g WiFi (obviously!) and even supports true HD quality video over an HDMI connection in the dock. Perfect!
The device is supposed to have a very responsive resistive touch screen and will be running Windows CE. JournE will be available in the 4th quarter of this year.
Price? $356 (approx.)
