In the midst of the new PMP (Portable Media Player) war between Microsoft and Apple, looks like another player wants to join…for the same reason, power, popularity and market penetration. Similar to the new Zune HD, the Sony NW-A840 also features a bright WQVGA OLED screen, although with a smaller 2.8 inch screen size. The design is magnificent with a ridiculously thin 7.2mm body. Although it does not have 720p HD output, it does have a TV-out function that can output a decent 720×480 (SD) quality.

Not to forget these Walkmans comes with a much-better-than-average earphones which are specially built and have a high quality digital noise-cancellation capability. Overall an excellent device which has everything you will possibly need from a PMP. So if this your first PMP for sure you will fall in love with it, although for Zune HD and iPod Touch fans we are not so sure.

Available in three models 16GB ($263), 32GB ($329) and 64GB ($439) capacities.
