Even though the next major version of Internet Explorer, version 9.0, is just 3 weeks into development, Microsoft has already revealed the primary features that will be integrated in the browser. The software will take advantage of the hardware acceleration provided by the GPU as well support D2D in DirectX, to render all the visual elements in a webpage at a much faster speed. IE9 will also feature a much powerful JavaScript engine and would support all web standards including HTML 5.

Microsoft has to do some “catch up” here. Inspite of releasing IE8, things do not look too good for the company. More users are still moving to Firefox, Safari and Chrome.
