Droid sales is coming close to the 1 million mark

Droid has been successful enough, if not as successful as the iPhone. Finally after a long time as the de-facto king, things don’t look so relaxed for Apple and AT&T anymore, atleast from October 2009. As per a recent report from RBC Capital analyst Mark Sue, the estimated number of Droids sold should be in the range of 700,000 – 800,000. This should probably be enough to take the number to 1 million for the quarter. That’s real good news for Motorola, as well as for Verizon.
Motorola is expected to sell around 1.5 million smartphone units in the fourth quarter of 2009. This obviously proves that the Droid is by far the best selling phone in the company’s portfolio.
