A new software called FourEyes3D will now allow you to experience 3D video-conferencing by using just two conventional webcams. And that’s all you need…no other expensive hardware required. The images from the two webcams are converted into a single stereoscopic image. Ofcourse, it boils down to the fact that you have place the cameras correctly which is exactly 90 millimeters apart. To view in 3D you will also have to have a pair of red/cyan specs, which although is kinda old school technology, but works well.

As the manufacturer puts it, “Add live 3D webcam support to any camera-enabled application (requires pair of external USB webcams). Everything is better live in 3D! Stickam, ustream, youtube! If you can stream it, you can do it in 3D. Snapshots, video recordings, ANYTHING!

You can buy the software for $30, or you can just play with the demo version to see if you like it. Only bummer…it’s available for Macs, no PC version available.
