Rare Sea Life photographed in Antarctica by researchers

December 28th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Life

Not too many people would enjoy hanging around in ice for too long. Imagine doing that for prolonged periods and that too under water. Welcome to Antarctica, “the world’s coldest, driest, and windiest continent”. Thanks to organizations like British Antarctic Survey whose photographers have made it possible for us to have a glimpse at the wide variety of rare marine life. It is believed that there are several species in the continent’s aquatic world which we still know nothing about. It is also hard to imagine how these little creatures survive at such low temperatures.

Photographs include a wide variety of creatures…from fish to octopus to even aquatic spiders. All images are part of the press release by British Antarctic Survey.
