After a decent success of the Palm Pre, and almost 946 apps later, Palm can finally say they are almost 1000 apps strong. Although out of these 946 apps, some are definitely useful, 1000 apps is probably a matter of joke at least when you keep Android and iPhone in mind. Apple reached the 100K mark a few months back and Android is picking up fast like no other phone in history. Although webOS by itself is a robust operating system, the question is whether it can reach the same volume of user base as iPhone OS and Android did?

We think yes, it can, at least to some extent. After all Palm Pre is almost a new born especially considering that webOS was launched on June 6, 2009. So 1000 apps in six months is not all that bad. Right?
