World’s ugliest fish is almost facing extinction

In case you are not sure what you are looking at, let’s just say it’s a fish, and that too a really sad one. Called the Blobfish, these creatures are almost facing extinction because of over-fishing by trawlers around south eastern Australian water habitat. The problem here is that these fishes are “dragged up with other catches”. Considered by many as the most ugliest fish you will ever see, these creatures live in the deep, around 800m under the sea. So if you can actually see one for real, consider yourself lucky.
Fisherman trawling for lobsters in the deep sea land up catching the Blobfish quite often, and that too the only place on the planet where these rare fishes are localized. This is a matter of concern but fortunately quite a few scientists are working to make things better.
