Youtube bids goodbye to IE6

This was inevitable. World’s no. 1 video publishing website Youtube.com, will officially stop support for IE6 starting March 13, 2010. Users will see the above message if they are using IE6, a web browser which most web developers still consider to be the most notorious ever. Of course thiings changed and most Windows users upgraded to IE 7 and then IE 8. But for those people who still believe “old is gold”, even when it comes to technology, should definitely think about an upgrade. IE 8 isn’t that bad a browser anyway.
That’s not all. Even Youtube’s mother-ship Google, recently announced that the company will stop supporting IE6 for Google Docs and Google Sites. Although the current features will work on this obsolete browser, future enhancements wouldn’t. The worst part is…atleast 20% of all the world’s internet users still use IE6, as per Net Applications. What a pity!
