Wonder at stylish shoes created from trash, particularly discarded Televisions

March 1st, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Design, Environment

This is no ordinary footwear. By that I do not want to mean that they can let you fly or perform some magic but certainly these are special! These stylish footwear not only look ravishing but also blend in them the “green” factor. These shoes are vegan shoes and have been made from none other than discarded televisions! Although it is pretty difficult to correlate between the two; the fact is, these have been made from “innovative polyester microfiber made from trashed television screens“.

These are just two such examples of the beautiful and eco-friendly collection from Olsenhaus, scheduled to be displayed in Fall/Winter 2010. Along with the use of television screens, designer Elizabeth Olsen also has plans of “experimenting with a sole made from recycled rubber mingled with sawdust” and even creating heels “derived from ground-up recycled-plastic pellets“. Such a noble effort is surely appreciated and definitely we all look forward to these extra-ordinary attempt in making a difference in shoe creation.
