Today Sony secretly slashed the price of the eBook Reader Pocket edition by $30. The current price stands around $169, while the offer is valid until April 4th. Co-incidentally (or is it?), Apple iPad will be available starting April 3rd. So is this Sony’s sneaky way of getting customers while they can?

Obviously the eBook Reader Pocket edition is no match for the iPad. The device doesn’t even have a built-in Wi-Fi. But the important point here is that it does what it is supposed to do, i.e. help you read eBooks, which it does perfectly well.
