Google’s GMail is now iPad ready

Today Google launched their new tablet-customized web interface for GMail. It is a rather an advanced version of the existing app for the iPhone and Android. Although the new UI takes advantage of the iPad tablet’s technology, this interface is not exclusive to just the iPad. Google plans to make the app available for any table computer running a browser that support HTML 5. “Here at Google we’re really excited about the promise of tablet computers, which will be great for browsing the web and using apps.”

To take advantage of the iPad’s large display, the app will feature a two-pane view instead of just one. At this point Google is still researching in improving the UI even further, and is eagerly looking for feedback and suggestions. “As this interface is experimental, expect changes as we continue to develop and optimize.” So if you have one, you can send them here.
