It’s all over for Palm, company is actively seeking buyers

Palm, the company which was once pioneered Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and the more recent Pre, is now up for sale. We all knew about the company’s lackluster sales performance, but never quite realized that it will soon look for buyers. The company is currently working with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Qatalyst Partners to identify the potential buyers. It is being suspected that both Lenovo (China) and HTC (Taiwan) are highly interested in this bid.
It’s a pity that even after the relaunch of a completely new mobile OS a.k.a. webOS, the company failed to meet expectations. I guess Google (Android) and Apple (iPhone OS) are just way ahead of any competition. “Before the rally, the stock had plunged more than 60 percent this year, dragged down by disappointing sales of the Pre and Pixi phones.”
