Apple iPad 3G pre-orders start shipping by May 7th

Apple’s iPad 3G will now ship by May 7th, if you pre-order it from the online Apple Store. Although Apple did promise the ship date to be sometime around end of April, the delay is caused primarily because of supply constraints. Other than having the same hardware and software as the original iPad, the 3G edition will also include a micro SIM card as well as a modem. This will enable users to access limited ($15 /month at 250MB) as well as unlimited ($30 /month) data from a cellular service. In case of U.S. the chosen one is obviously AT&T.
The service is unlocked with no commitment, so the user can cancel it anytime. International shipments will not commence before end of May. Prices for the 3G edition ranges from $629 for 16GB, $729 for 32GB and $829 for the 64 GB model. Don’t forget the tax amount on top of that though!
