Ubuntu 10.04 a.k.a. Lucid Lynx arrives

April 29th, 2010 | 1 Comment | Posted in Software

Good news for all Ubuntu-philes. Ubuntu 10.04 a.k.a. Lucid Lynx finally arrives. For those of you who are not aware, this new version also has a LTS (Long Term Support) edition, which means you get longer support. The new OS is reported to be noticeably quicker than its predecessors. It also has a faster boot-time especially if your netbook is having a SSD.

One noticeable change is that GIMP is not included by default, which has been replaced by F-Spot. Lucid Lynx also seems to be more social-centric and the OS feature page calls it “Social from the start”. Overall, a more complete, faster, social, sleeker and comprehensive full-service operating system. You would probably also love the new cooler logo.
