A quick glance at the world’s deadliest fish

April 30th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Life

Unlike what it seems to be, the photo above is not of an underwater rock. It is actually a fish, and  an ugly one. But not only it looks ugly, it is also the world’s deadliest fish. Called the StoneFish or Synanceia, these fishes can be found in the coastal region of the Indo-Pacific ocean, mostly near Australia. They have extremely lethal venom in their dorsal spines, and when a human accidentally steps on one, he/she can literally bid this world  ‘good-bye’. Death may be inevitable unless treated on time.

Even worse, these fish survive up to 24 hours on land and therefore can be easily mistaken as a rock. Most fatalities have occurred in Australia in the Queensland region.
