Today Apple officially announced that the company sold their 1 millionth iPad on Friday (30th April), even before the completion of the first full month. In just 28 days since the product’s introduction in April 3rd, the iPad sales reached this number. Also, 12 million iPad apps were downloaded from the App Store, while over 1.5 million eBooks from the iBookstore.

Steve Jobs’ response…”One million iPads in 28 days-that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone. Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.”
