Toshiba plans to make the world’s thinnest and lightest notebooks

May 7th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Hardware

Toshiba has recently revealed its plan to make the world’s lightest and thinnest notebooks. The new series will start with 13-inch display, 2.26GHz Core i3 with 4GB of RAM while the higher end will feature up to 2.66GHz Core i7 with possibly even more RAM. The notebook will weigh only 2.4 lbs and will even have 512GB SSD as an option. Since, heat is the biggest enemy for any electronic device, Toshiba plans to handle that using a new technology called “Mountain Blaze”.

The ‘thinness’ of the notebooks will be achieved using a specialized LCD which will be only 2.6mm (0.1in) thick. Possible release date will be sometime in summer.
