The Nautilus, a captivating architectural marvel

May 26th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Design

Would you call this a dream-house or a house from a dream? If you ever wanted to know how a shell looked from inside, may be this is the house that could answer all your speculations. This shell shaped house in Mexico City is called The Nautilus and was built in 2007. Still bedazzled? Anyone would be.The Nautilus was planned for a couple who wanted to have a house that interpreted nature and blended with the same.

Built by architect Javier Sensonian of Arquitectura Orgánica, the structure encapsulates a mind blowing chamber that can be enjoyed better when perceived [rather than with my explanation]. Lush green vegetation imparts an organic feel to the interior. The house includes a lobby, a television room, study, bedroom, bathroom and of course ‘snail-stairs’ that sure looks like a fantasy.
