Google recruits Palm’s webOS user experience architect for Android team

Google has confirmed that the company has recruited Palm’s webOS senior director of user experience, Matias Duarte. If you had liked Palm Pre’s UI, then let’s just say Duarte was the guy behind it. Of course this is great loss for Palm a.k.a HP, as Duarte would start his career as the new User Experience Director for Android. And this is yet another move which indicates how serious Google is about Android and its usability.

Let’s face it, webOS UI is simply very good. Duarte being the key guy behind the operating system’s user experience will definitely prove to be a great asset for Google. Not sure what the search giant has in mind about improved user experience in Android, but we are certain it sure would be interesting.
