‘Europe in Bloom – A Living Facade’ in Copenhagen

So what are we supposedly looking at? Yes, it resembles a vertical garden and has been planned for the facade of the EEA building [European Environment Agency] in Copenhagen. This is part of an effort to create an awareness of the impact such gardens can have on biodiversity and consequently the environment. The vertical garden on the walls of Kongens Nytorv 6 houses about 5000 annual plants which in full bloom will reveal a colorful map of Europe on the facade!
The inspirational garden called the ‘Europe in Bloom – a living facade‘ will glorify the EEA from 22nd May [World Biodiversity Day] to October 2010. Some of the pictures show how the garden has been planned and work in progress. For more picture you could visit flickr.com.
