Finally, the iPad web-cam solution spotted

June 8th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Apple, Gadgets

In spite of the iPad’s unprecedented success, one of the most important features missing in the device is a built-in front-facing camera. Although the other important ‘missing’ feature will be taken care of by the iOS 4 in August (multi-tasking), what happens to the missing camera issue? It seems there’s a company called PhotoFast which is making an external web-cam that will directly connect to your iPad, thus allowing you to video chat without any issues. No other additional adapters required.

The device called the PhotoFast Web Cam is expected to be released sometime late this year. For video recording, there is is a 640×480 resolution limit though. Of course not too many people would like to carry a relatively large external web cam around, considering that the iPad itself is so compact. Still, quite a few users may take advantage of this decent work-around. Note the typo – ’200 MP’ on the product cover, it should probably be 2MP instead.
