3 million iPad sold in 80 days
Apple recently announced that the company sold its 3 millionth iPad on June 21, 2010. That’s just 80 days later when the device was originally launched in the U.S. on April 3rd, 2010. Up till now, developers have released around 11000 apps dedicated to the iPad, taking advantage of its larger screen and higher resolution graphics. Of course it can still run all the 200,000+ iPhone/iPod Touch apps out there. As per Steve Jobs, “People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily life. We’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month.”
Higher sales of the iPad likely means lower sales of netbooks, at least that is how the math goes in U.S. Not sure how things will roll out in the other nations. Not to worry…we will soon know.
