‘Ballman’, a tribute to all World Cup football fans
Isn’t it amazing? Everyone calls this the ‘Ballman‘. Created from 3000 footballs that have been suspended from steel wires, this massive installation portrays a player in action with a football. So where do you think you should expect it to be? The gigantic ‘football sculpture’ from Nike is in display at the Carlton Shopping Mall at Johannesburg, South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
This grand and beautiful structure marking the worldwide football enthusiasm is supposed to thrill all passerby till the end of the World Cup tournament. After the event, each of the balls (comprising the sculpture) is supposed to be given away.The Ballman has been put together by Ratcliff Fowler Design of Leeds.
