Take a seat has surprise stored in for you

June 24th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Design

We have seen quite a few concepts of  space-saving furniture. Instantly ‘folding’ comes to our mind whenever we try to relate  furniture and limited space. If you are still thinking that those things in the above picture are books you are absolutely wrong. Take a seat is not a book but actually a seating system that transforms itself dramatically. I don’t think that we have come across such a compact idea of  a furniture piece before.

Below you can see the picture of the seat it unfolds into. Designed by Darris Hamroun , Take a seat could be easily kept in a shelf  along with other books when not in use. The frame is made from solid oak boards and steel hinges while the seat is made of fabric and foam. There’s also a neat video gradually showing the steps.
