Three days after the iPhone 4 launch on June 24th, Apple announced today that the number of units sold has surpassed 1.7 million. That’s just astounding. Even Steve Jobs confessed that this is definitely the most successful launch for any product in Apple’s history. At this time the phone is available for sale in only 5 countries, the U.S., Japan, U.K., France and Germany. 18 new countries will be added to the list by the end of July. So you can expect the sales number to grow even crazier that this.
The countries to be added are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The iPhone 4 includes a new Retina display with a 960×640 pixel resolution and features HD 720p video recording, 3-axis gyro and allows a 40 percent longer talk time.
