Just when you thought that the recent release of Android 2.2 a.k.a. Froyo was here to stay, brief specs for the upcoming Android 3.0 has already surfaced. Obviously this isn’t official, so changes in the specs is quite possible. Code named Android Gingerbread, the OS will feature a significant upgrade that will demand high-end hardware and provide a much better user interface/experience.

The release date for the first device running Gingerbread is estimated to be around the end of this year, sometime during the holiday season (November/December). Minimum hardware requirements include a 1Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, 3.5 inch screen and support up to a mind boggling 1280×760 display resolution for 4-inch (or higher) screens. As for the user experience, it is guaranteed to make your jaw drop.
