Jewelry from discarded plastic reclaimed from the beach
Do you care for our oceans? Some people do. They try searching for plastic waste and other stuff that pollute our beaches and transform the collected bits and pieces into some really cool jewelry. This very collection called “Its a Man Made World” has been crafted from plastic pieces collected from beaches across the Bahamas. Each of these pieces tell the ‘sorry’ state of our beaches and encourages us to reuse such materials, be it plastic (or anything else) into something meaningful.
The gorgeous collection has been created by Barbara de Vries. Apart from being actively involved in cleaning up the beaches she also donates a part of the amount for each jewelry sold to the Cape Eleuthera Institute, which is “an organization based in the Bahamas, which researches resource management and sustainability geared to marine and island life“.
