Samsung sells more than a million Wave phones in just four weeks

July 13th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Business

Samsung Wave S8500 is based on the company’s own mobile operating system, bada. Although Samsung had high hopes on the new OS, it didn’t quite expect a very big success so soon. The Korean electronics giant recently reported that it sold more than a million Waves in just four weeks. The company also reported that bada will have at least 7000 apps by the end of this year. Competitors to the Wave includes Apple iPhone and Google’s Android-powered phones.

Even though the number of bada apps is negligible when compared to iPhone’s 200,000+ and Android’s near 100,000 apps, the sales figure of Wave does indicate a strong future for bada as a mobile OS.
