Windows 7 continues to rule: 175 million licenses sold
Faster and faster, stronger and stronger it gets. We are talking about Microsoft’s latest desktop operating system a.k.a. Windows 7. The company completed selling 150 million copies sometime last month. Another 25 million gets added to the list of this month. At this rate, Microsoft is selling (much) more than 7 copies a second as it originally claimed. Brandon LeBlanc – Windows Communications Manager at Microsoft, says, “Windows 7 is now running on more than 16% of all PCs worldwide. It’s exciting to see this kind of response from customers who have helped make Windows 7 the fastest selling operating system in history.”
Brandon also says that IE8 is also currently the fastest growing web browser in the market. Microsoft recently declared a record profit of $16.04 billion for the quarter ending June 30, 2010, which is a 22% rise from that of last year.
