Lightsails in Austria
This structure is a Lightsail and is one of the many that has been constructed at different spots around the lake Millstaetter in Austria. An abstract form of sails, these have been designed to emit light as a “guiding symbol” similar to lighthouses. The purpose is to assist tourists in easier navigation around the exhibits, planned along the lake.
The Lightsails are said to be powered by energy derived from the lake. They are also very sensitive because as the number of visitors increase around it, the color on them starts changing from lighter to darker tones. Even temperature changes affect the hue of the individual Lightsails. The architect is Söhne and Partner.
