Cook ‘n’ Roll concept kitchen

August 10th, 2010 | 1 Comment | Posted in Design

Let’s have a look at this concept unit which illustrates a compact format by packing in all the essential features of a kitchen. Structured into a table, the top part of it serves as an inductive heating unit which is made of flexible and strong silica Aero-gel. The table top can be slid to reveal an infrared oven, a storage unit and a sink. The sink sports a sensor controlled water flow system which gets initiated as soon as the top covering is moved. When closed, water automatically stops flowing.

There’s also a dishwasher at the extreme end which unlike the traditional ones looks like a cluster of green sticks. Each of those consists of RFID [radio frequency identification] tag capable of cleaning the dirty tableware inserted in them using negative ions. The dirt collected with the waterless cleaning process gets released when the dishwasher is slid over the sink, to ultimately drain out through the sink. The kitchen table called the Cook ‘n’ Roll has been conceptualized by Zivile Januskaityte.
