If you thought that Android is no match for iOS when it comes to 3D gaming, then you are probably right. Let’s all be honest here…the gaming world in Android hasn’t quite ‘taken off’ yet. But a recent tip from a ‘trusted source’ for Engadget claims that Sony Ericsson is about to launch a gaming-smartphone, almost a PSP Go replica, but with a phone built-in and powered by Android 3.0 (Gingerbread).
The device should have a screen size between 3.7 to 4.1 inches, a 5 MP camera and will be powered by a 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor. Even more interesting is that it will include a D-Pad similar to that of the PSP Go and instead of a joystick it will feature a large touch pad. Whether the phone will be branded as a part of the PSP/PlayStation family or Xperia, is something still unknown.
Make no mistake, this phone will be a true (portable) 3D gaming device.
Availability? Sometime October this year, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
